Pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1886 Lebel Rifle Bayonet w/Scabbard – 2nd Pattern w/Long Blade & Later Flat Release Button – Original – Excellent Condition. Up for sale is a pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1886 Lebel Rifle Bayonet with Scabbard. The bayonet and scabbard serial numbers do not match. The blade bright, it has some minor finish wear and some small areas of discoloration. This bayonet is a 2nd pattern long blade bayonet without the hooked guard. Looks like it was polished at some point in time. It has the later design flat release button. The release button works properly. The scabbard is in Very Nice Condition. Blue finish with only very minor wear. Some minor spots of surface pitting and no major dents. The scabbard has a slight bend to it, hardly noticeable and does not interfere with the bayonet. The bayonet seats fully in the scabbard. Please see photos for condition and details. This would make a welcomed addition to any pre-WWI French Army Collection. Check out my other items.
