French Model 1866 Chassepot Chatellerault Bayonet Sword Scabbard Matching S/N #

Beautiful M1866 Chassepot Bayonet made by the Chatellerault Arsenal in 1871. Overall bayonet is in excellent condition with the scabbard showing some light fading, age patina, and a couple of minor dings. Sharp markings and cartouches on the guard and on the ricasso area. Excellent brass handle with great working press-stud, top of blade spine marked with Arsenal markings as mentioned in title, this has matching serial no’s on the bayonet and scabbard, A 74447. French Model 1866 Chassepot St. Etienne Bayonet Sword Scabbard

French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet made by St. 27.5 overall with cartouches and serial no on bayonet and scabbard (mismatched), blade is smooth showing bright finish mixed with age patina spotting, the scabbard shows a brown rust patina and has not been cleaned. The press-stud is in excellent working order.

WWI French Model 1886 Lebel Rifle Rosalie Cruciform Short Sword Bayonet Scabbard

French Model 1886/91/16/35 Lebel Bayonet measuring 18.25″ overall with a blade length of 13.5″. Great looking blade with blued finish, very sharp point, the brass handle shows some scattered dings, scratches, excellent working press-stud, non matching serial no. Dent free scabbard with blued finish showing some very light scattered age patina. This bayonet model was the shortened version of the regular length Model 1886 bayonet. This was the last version of the epee bayonet and was manufactured by the French during or after 1916.

WWI German/Prussian M1871 Infantry Sword Bayonet withScabbard Sawback & Etched

Pre-WWI M1871 Prussian/German Infantry Sawback Bayonet with Leather Scabbard. Ricasso is marked with scales which stands for Alexander Coppel. The brass grip and crossguard show light wear. The etched sawback blade is straight, tight, unsharpened, a couple very small nicks, and has age spots scattered throughout. The leather scabbard is solid with tight stitching, a little surface leather loss, and it isn’t correct for this bayonet but does fit. Felt washer is missing. Length of the blade measures 19 3/16″ (7/8″ wide x 1/4″ thick spine), length of the bayonet is 23 3/8″, and in the scabbard it is 26 1/16. Muzzle hole opening is 5/8. Check out my other War items!! Original French M1866 Yataghan “Chassepot” needle-fire rifle sword bayonet, with original scabbard. I have included all photos of makers marks, stamps, and engravings that i could find. The top edge of the blade has a engraving that reads that the sword was made at Mutzig Arsenal in May “mai” of 1869. Overall in nice condition for its age with a very unique styling. Please see photos for condition details. Measures 28 inches in length. Many other bayonets available!
