French Model 1886/35 Lebel Rifle Bayonet, the 2nd versions of this epee bayonet was 18″ OAL which this one is, and has a hooked quillon, the 13.25″ cruciform blade is in very good condition with light age patina, and two cartouches on the ricasso area. Good looking alloy handle, scabbard looks good, slightly bent a bit, but does not affect bayonet sliding in and out. Scabbard serial is faded, but does not appear to match, the guard shows cartouches and serial no with some age patina, some rust on it. These bayonets reflected a major change in design by the French, and were used from 1886 to WWII. The 2nd model was a shortened version (18 overall length) of the original Model 1886. French Model 1886/93/16 Lebel Rifle Bayonet. The 3rd Variant has the original 25.12 length, however, was manufactured without the hooked quillon and the handle is made of brass instead of alloy. The cruciform blade is in very good condition with the scabbard showing a brown age patina and scattered scratches, dings. The ricasso area of the blade is stamped, “SC”. Serial no on bayonet is 14712 and matching on the scabbard! Very good working press-stud mechanism. See photos for further details. French Model 1886/91/16/35 Lebel Rifle Bayonet. This is the shortened version of the original M1886 and measures 18″ OAL, with a cruciform blade of 13.5″. Blade is in excellent condition with the handle showing some black faded, scattered paint. Excellent working press-stud, dent free scabbard. Good looking alloy handle, scabbard looks good, slightly bent a bit, but does not affect bayonet sliding in and out. Scabbard serial is faded, but does not appear to match, guard shows cartouches and serial no. These bayonets reflected a major change in design by the French, and were used from 1886 to WWII. Original French Model 1886 Lebel Rifle Bayonet measuring 25.12″ OAL, the 20.5″ cruciform blade is in very good condition with some wear, use. Good looking brass handle, with excellent working press-stud, ricasso area of blade marked with what looks like “C&P” with a cartouche next to the press-stud. The scabbard is dent free showing some age patina, wear with faded finish, Cannot make out the serial no on the scabbard. See our other Bayonets at TR-West.

French Model 1886/91/16/35 Lebel Bayonet measuring 18.25″ overall with a blade length of 13.5″. Great looking blade with blued finish, very sharp point, the brass handle shows some scattered dings, scratches, excellent working press-stud, non matching serial no. Dent free scabbard with blued finish showing some very light scattered age patina. This bayonet model was the shortened version of the regular length Model 1886 bayonet. This was the last version of the epee bayonet and was manufactured by the French during or after 1916.
