I believe This is an authentic East German DDR Bayonet Knife with a scabbard. The weapon has been modified and features a transitional pommel design. The bayonet is made of bakelite and has a Type 2 transition point. It is a great addition to any militaria collection and a unique piece of history. The knife was manufactured in Germany and is an original item from the period. Item is in overall good condition. I’m no expert but I don’t see any significant damage other than some light scratches.
