French Model 1886 /35 Lebel Rifle Bayonet Scabbard Hooked Quillon 2nd Variant
French Model 1886/35 Lebel Rifle Bayonet, the 2nd versions of this epee bayonet was 18″ OAL which this one is, and has a hooked quillon, the 13.25″ cruciform blade is in very good condition with light age patina, and two cartouches on the ricasso area. Good looking alloy handle, scabbard looks good, slightly bent a bit, but does not affect bayonet sliding in and out. Scabbard serial is faded, but does not appear to match, the guard shows cartouches and serial no with some age patina, some rust on it. These bayonets reflected a major change in design by the French, and were used from 1886 to WWII. The 2nd model was a shortened version (18 overall length) of the original Model 1886. French Model 1866 Chassepot Chatellerault Bayonet Sword Scabbard Matching S/N #
Beautiful M1866 Chassepot Bayonet made by the Chatellerault Arsenal in 1871. Overall bayonet is in excellent condition with the scabbard showing some light fading, age patina, and a couple of minor dings. Sharp markings and cartouches on the guard and on the ricasso area. Excellent brass handle with great working press-stud, top of blade spine marked with Arsenal markings as mentioned in title, this has matching serial no’s on the bayonet and scabbard, A 74447. Civil War U. S. Model 1855 Socket Bayonet for M1861,62, 63 & Pre 1873 Trapdoors
Antique US Model 1855 Socket Bayonet measuring 21″ overall with a 18″ blade. US stamped on the ricasso area of the blade. Shows a a gray/silver age patina with scattered pitting. These bayonets fit the Model 1855 and M1861-62-63 Muskets. This also fits the pre-Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Bayonets. These were not blued, they were finished bright and had a larger socket, inside diameter of.

Good looking brass handle, with excellent working press-stud, ricasso area of blade shows a “S” in a circle, The scabbard is dent free showing some age patina, wear. French Model 1866 Chassepot St. Etienne Bayonet Sword Scabbard
French M1866 Chassepot Bayonet made by St. 27.5 overall with cartouches and serial no on bayonet and scabbard (mismatched), blade is smooth showing bright finish mixed with age patina spotting, the scabbard shows a brown rust patina and has not been cleaned. The press-stud is in excellent working order.
French Model 1886 /93/16 Lebel Rifle Bayonet & Scabbard 3rd Variant S/N#’s Match
French Model 1886/93/16 Lebel Rifle Bayonet. The 3rd Variant has the original 25.12 length, however, was manufactured without the hooked quillon and the handle is made of brass instead of alloy. The cruciform blade is in very good condition with the scabbard showing a brown age patina and scattered scratches, dings. The ricasso area of the blade is stamped, “SC”. Serial no on bayonet is 14712 and matching on the scabbard! Very good working press-stud mechanism. See photos for further details. French Model 1886/91/16/35 Lebel Rifle Bayonet. This is the shortened version of the original M1886 and measures 18″ OAL, with a cruciform blade of 13.5″. Blade is in excellent condition with the handle showing some black faded, scattered paint. Excellent working press-stud, dent free scabbard. Name and date marked by someone on the left side of handle. The Lebel Bayonet was very popular with the French Infantry, who called it, “Rosalie”. See our other Bayonets at TR-West.
